What is forged today may be gone tomorrow. Wise words to live by when the future is a mystery, and the present feels like it shakes beneath our feet. It is moments like this, where we must rise to the challenge.

Storm clouds gather on the horizon promising change. Whispers of war carry on the wind. A rift has grown within the ranks, a crack in the foundation, and two factions now stand where once there was only one.

The Pantheon has been forever split down the middle. The Aesir command one side, their strength in arms and the simple art of combat. Warriors to the last. The Vanir on the other hand, value a subtler means of power. Sorcerers; they are able to weave destruction at will.

It is time to be forged through divine fires and ascend. To remain as you are, or to rise up and join the Pantheon… The choice is yours alone. What lies at the other end, which side will you be recruited by? This, you must dare to discover for yourself.

Erebus City sits in shadow.

Neon lights pour through the haze, allowing an eerie glow to light up the night in patches and pools of colour. Streets paved in concrete, abused by the passage of time, stand empty. Bitter winds carry a chill that cuts deep, but no one is there to feel it. Curfew came down at nightfall. As soon as the sun dipped below the horizon citizens were ordered inside, and in the winter months the days are shortlived.

You’re huddled in a dark room, wrapped up warm against the cold. Your roommate sits back as you peek through wooden shutters onto the empty road below. Puddles of rainwater collected in potholes gently stir amongst the litter and refuse blowing across the scene. Streetlights flicker their feeble white light as though warring against the diffused fluorescent radiance that dominates.

Above it all, you watch. Waiting.

King Mustor Abundance II, named after the first King of Concordia, had ruled for almost seven years when he died. He did not die alone…

On this night, there was to be a meeting between the Houses. The Liege Lord of all of the seven Great Houses stole away by night, cloaked in shadow and secrecy, to meet with their King; he too did this without the knowledge of any of his Royal retinue. The location was to be a derelict watch tower in an overgrown and oft-forgotten part of the Abundance estate, known as, Sleeper’s Spire. Their reason for meeting is still unknown.

With the rising sun, the eight men were found missing from their beds, and the alarm bells were rung. Fingers were pointed, swords drawn, and members of every House deployed to help in the search for the King, and the High Lords of Concordia.

By the time their bodies were found, seemingly sleeping soundly in the crumbling tower, all were long dead.
